There are perfect days, when the sun is shining, birds are singing, and babies giggle in joy at the site of you. Then, there are those dark days When Things Don’t Go Your Way. You know, the ones where you lose your keys, drop your phone in the toilet, and the dog uses the remote as a chew toy. We all have these hiccups in our life. What happens when you’ve been planning for something, getting your life on track in a certain direction and what you’ve been working hard for slips out of your grasp? A job you’ve been going to school for changes it’s rules on what their company needs to hire for that position. Early retirement is a no-go after your nest egg disappears thanks to bad investments. You, or the party you side with, lose an election. What happens then?
There are annoying people everywhere in the world and what are you supposed to do when one crosses you while crossing your path? You’ve got it together. You’re kind to people. Not much gets under your skin. But, every once in awhile, somebody just pushes your button. Grabbing you by the collar they take you off your high and drag you down to their low. What do you do then? When, through no fault of your own, you’re suddenly angry and ready to retaliate. What can you do…When People Piss You Off!?
What’s up with millennials today!? Or, so many of us for that matter! Ever feel like they wear their the-world-owes-me attitude like a badge of honor? They work hard (sometimes), putting in a good two-hour’s effort, then proclaim loudly how unfair it all is and quit. Sound familiar to you? How about from you? Where did all this Entitlement come from in the first place… and how close to home does it hit? Were we so coddled as children we have a hard time coping with the slightest amount of pushback from the job? People around us? The Universe!? Have we become such babies or is this the natural way of things in the 21st Century?
If you’ve ever wondered what to do when the romance wanes and all that remains are two people in a relationship, then this is the Success Freaks episode for you. Why is it such a struggle to share love with one another once the feelings begin to ebb just a bit? And, now we learn we might not be speaking the right Love Language when we do try! Listen in as Mordant & Kirsten wade through this lingual lagoon and discuss Dr. Gary Chapman’s book The Five Love Languages. It’s Episode 269 – what better reason could there be to… Talk Love to Me, Baby!? [Read more…]
Dreams are important, but unfortunately they don’t always come true. We discuss how to deal with these situations gracefully.
Getting tripped up, stumbling, and sometimes falling may be in your best interest. Often, the only way you are going to see your next opportunity is by pursuing current opportunities. This episode you will get a small dose of politics, some great entrepreneurial business advice and, of course, ways to make yourself and those around you awesome while pursuing opportunities. So, keep following your dreams and letting them evolve. You will be surprised what doors open while the ones in front of you are shutting.
Charles & Mordant play the blame game in real life…. But, maybe they should be pointing the finger at themselves? This episode, learn about teaching life lessons to kids and dealing with the neighborhood “bullies.” Sometimes you have to step back and decipher who is the actual problem child – even with adults. All of us must hone our “powers” and use them for good. Even if that means feeding the monster so you can live your life and welcome everyone to Planet You.
Mordant & McFall discuss how members of our inner circle are the ones who take the brunt of our learning curves. They see what seems like hypocrisy, get the religious anger of our failings as we learn, and hopefully stay strong to the other side. Learning is the most dangerous game of all – even for those watching from the sidelines.
Mordant adopts a country twang while Charles asks if “you have seen a whole new world?” after listening to the prior two episodes. The gang reminds us how they are battling in the trenches with us. We all have to adapt to the learning curve of life and realize our inner circle is going to take the brunt of it while we struggle for air. To counter this, we all need to work on communicating and “adulting” effectively. You will get some relationship advice along the way as well as being reminded that time is precious. It’s time to cut yourself some slack and create space for riding out the learning curve. [Read more…]
Kevin Mickelson knew he wanted to be an author from a young age, but kept putting it off because it didn’t seem realistic. When he finally decided that realism wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, he put a sample of his work together and contacted Zombie Orpheus Entertainment to see if they could use a freelance writer to pen a new adventure module based on their hit independent film, “The Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising.”
They liked what they saw, and his effort resulted in a chance to form friendships with some of his favorite independent film stars, as well as a high-profile freelance gig that put his name on the radar! His wheel-spinning days behind him, he’s now devoting his energy toward pushing his dream ever further and working to bring a piece of the larger gaming world to his home town of Duluth, Minnesota.

“The party’s on. The feelin’s here. That only comes. This time of year. Simply having a wonderful Christmastime…” ~ Paul McCartney ~
While everyone else in the world is busy spending time with friends and family. While everyone else in the world is enjoying a little time off from their busy lives and celebrating Christmas the way, ya know, you should … our Motivational talk show Elves, Mordant & McFall, are doing the one thing that no one else on their team is doing. They’re chatting…on the radio … with each other, and Gitmo Slave (from the No Agenda Stream), about what they’re doing with their Christmas Day.
The evening runs the gambit from favorite Christmas Movies that simply must be watched, reminiscing about favorite gifts received as children, favorite memories of time spent with family, and what annual rituals people go through during this time of year. Mordant, McFall and Gitmo take the time to share of themselves with their listeners on this Christmas Evening.
Talk turns to the NMX/blogworld conference coming up in January and what TOSOL/Success Freaks has to offer their faithful listeners/followers in 2013. And just what does the coming year have in store for everyone, including Mordant & McFall? Public Speaking engagements, touring the country, conferences, online coaching, webinars, and even a rebranding of the company. “This year is the year we’re really going to stop talking and start doing.” This will be the year of “Exciting” for everyone in the TOSOL/Success Freaks/No Agenda Stream world and you’re all invited along for the ride.
