We invite everyone to join us in the chat room each Tuesday. It’s nice to see a familiar name, see your views, and field your questions on each subject we tackle. We truly love having you here. And…since we all want to have a good time, here are our Chat Room Guidelines.
No Scrolling in the Chat Room
This annoying act involves one or more members flooding the chat room with incessant, nonsense messages, causing the screen to scroll rapidly so that no other members can successfully chat. This type of behavior can get you booted and, sometimes, permanently banned from the chat.
No Solicitation in the Chat Room
Unless the chat room is verified as being free of minors, we choose to implement a no-solicitations rule so that any minors in our chat are safe from potential predators. We encourage all participants to report any private solicitations to Rockgirl or Sharyn.
No Spam in the Chat Room
Using the chat room to advertise other sites, services or products is considered spam unless this activity has been preapproved by Success Freaks. Spamming activities in in the chat room include asking others to visit other sites, take part in polls or join another chat or forum. A warning will be issued to the offending member of the chat. If you continue to spam the chat room, you will be removed from the chat. We don’t mind if you pimp yourself out or post a link that has something to do with the show topic.
No Hating in the Chat Room
Using hate speech—speech that demeans individuals by race, nationality, gender or sexual orientation—is cause for immediate dismissal from the chat room and even permanent banning. Hate speech will not be tolerated in any form. We want everyone in the chatroom to feel comfortable.
Don’t Give Out Personal Information in the Chat Room
Giving out personal information about yourself and others is discouraged. Information such as names, addresses and phone numbers should be shared only by people in private messages, if at all. Likewise, anyone soliciting members for their personal information may be promptly removed from the chat room.
Off-Topic Chatter
Depending on the nature of the chat room, off-topic chatter is discouraged and cause for reprimand or removal from the chat room. “While some general chat rooms thrive on off-the-cuff chatter, a targeted chat room, such as those whose focus is on a specific subject, can quickly lose its focus if off-topic chatter gets too out of hand.” While it’s normal to have some off-topic chat, we’d really like for everyone to help keep the chatter on topic as much as possible.
No Personal Insults in the Chat Room
Personal insults between members in the chat room will not be tolerated. If a member is beginning to insult another member of the chat, they will be reprimanded and given a warning. If someone continues to insult others in the chat, this will lead to booting from the chat and permanent banning.
No Profanity or Overtly Sexual Discussions
While we don’t want to tell you how you should talk, we would like to make it clear that some members of the chat room have children that may decide to pop in the chat room. Overtly sexual discussions, on the other hand, are not really suited for our chat room.
