Charles & Mordant play the blame game in real life…. But, maybe they should be pointing the finger at themselves? This episode, learn about teaching life lessons to kids and dealing with the neighborhood “bullies.” Sometimes you have to step back and decipher who is the actual problem child – even with adults. All of us must hone our “powers” and use them for good. Even if that means feeding the monster so you can live your life and welcome everyone to Planet You.
On this episode of Success Freaks, we jump right into “what the title of this week’s show means” and how it affects us all. In segment two, Charles talks about the psychology of Perception. Chatroom Query: How do you tell the difference between fear and instinct? In the Level Up section, we learn how to deal with our fears and be patient with those who are dealing with their own fear. In On Beyond, the discussion is about the emotion of Fear vs. respect and understanding. Plus… there’s Werewolves.
Mordant & McFall tackle the issue of when confidence in one person meets the worry wart in another, how to deal with the conflict, and how to shut up (on either side of the equation) and learn your lesson.
On this episode of Success Freaks, we promote a good cause, but somehow forget to set up the show. We hear what happens when co-workers clash between ‘Worry Wart’ and ‘It’s Fine!’ attitudes. We share a few personal stories of growth. In the Level Up, we learn to look for the lesson in every situation. And in On Beyond, we share the cartoon reactions we sometimes have to each other. We strive to surround ourselves with the people and environments we want to be like. Sometimes in that journey, we become unaware of the toxic environments we are moving through to get to our goals. Mordant & McFall discuss how to become more aware of your environment and how to maintain the life you desire despite your toxic surroundings.
This week on Success Freaks the guys talk current events, they ask with whom do you surround yourself, and Listener Lauren offers a change to a Success Freaks catchphrase. In the Level Up section, C&M teach you to be aware of your environment and responsible for your situation. And in the On Beyond section, it’s the connection between Perception, Words, and Environment.
Segment One –
Charles & Mordant debate the correct use of the term “V” vs. “VS.” Mordant is mixing his passion for success with his cold medicine for this show. Charles fills us in on his plans to officiate an upcoming event at Dragon Con 2015. The guys discuss the idea of trying to get ahead in a toxic environment.
Segment Two –
Mordant talks about the question “Who do you surround yourself with?” Charles tells a story about an incident that grew from his situation or environment. He also brings up the ways a “toxic environment” can influence your life. Mordant introduces the idea that it’s OUR responsibility to overcome our environment. The guys follow up with examples of this in their lives.
Segment Three –
Charles reads a letter from Listener Lauren. In the episode SF #213 – Level Me Up, Scotty, Lauren heard Mordant use the term “Suck it up, Buttercup!” Lauren feels that it’s a very negative expression and suggests an alternative. Mordant & Charles discuss the origins of the phrase and the differing ways it can be perceived, the importance of assuming responsibility for whatever situation you’re in, and the differences between “Sucking it up” and “Leveling Up.”
Segment Four – This week’s “Level Ups”
The guys talk with the chat room and go into further detail in the conversation about “Sucking it up” and “Leveling Up.”
Charles’ Level Up: Overcome a negative environment by being Aware. Pay attention to everything around you.
Mordant’s Level Up: Don’t blame your environment for your situation. Overcome it.
Segment Five –
On Beyond Success Freaks: (Here Charles & Mordant talk about how they “Go bigger, Badder, Better, More!”)
The conversation on dealing with your environment continues between C&M and listeners in the chat room.

Ever wonder why bad things always happen to you? You’re doing everything basically right, but still things go consistently wrong. Are you unlucky…or is God actually out to get you? It’s enough to make you lift your head to the heavens and scream “Why Me?” And then that still, small voice (whether from up above or those earbuds connected to your mp3 player) whispers “Spiritual Evolution!” Is that it? Is that really why you keep high steppin’ it into life’s fertilizer more commonly known as “your problems”? Why, yes. Yes it is.
This episode, Mordant & McFall tackle the pitfalls that occur on the road to success. Why do hard challenges happen in life? Often because you asked for them. Whether to shed some light on things you could do better or to help you Level Up Your Life, remember – Dark Days Bring Bright Opportunities. ‘Tis the season to be…grumpy? During this holiday season, do you find yourself spouting Bah Humbug more often than Merry Christmas? Do thoughts of family dinners this Christmas Holiday stir up more feelings of dread than visions of sugarplums dancing in your…well, you know. If you find yourself in a quandary about Kwanzaa, a huff about Hanukkah, or exasperated about X-mas, then this is the show for you.
With a birthday just past and Christmas around the corner (when this episode was recorded), Mordant & McFall tackle the slippery slope of the Holiday Spirit and the meaning(s) of Christmas. Is Santa Claus truly for everyone… or only the less-enlightened, more materially-minded masses looking to horn in on a religious holiday? Your Level Up Guys go back and forth on this one, chucking Christmas cheer and tongue-in-cheek tinsel all over the Holiday Season. Give a listen and decide for yourself whether they are being Naughty or Nice.
Happy Holidaze & God Bless Us, Every One!!! [Read more…]
