Charles & Mordant play the blame game in real life…. But, maybe they should be pointing the finger at themselves? This episode, learn about teaching life lessons to kids and dealing with the neighborhood “bullies.” Sometimes you have to step back and decipher who is the actual problem child – even with adults. All of us must hone our “powers” and use them for good. Even if that means feeding the monster so you can live your life and welcome everyone to Planet You.
Mordant & McFall tackle being transparent by talking about the new phase that they have entered in their careers and lives. “Follow Me” means trusting into the unknown of what’s next while at the same time having enough strength to show others the way.
This episode of Success Freaks, “The Follow-Me Lifestyle” is explained as we find out Charles quit his job and this may be the last time we hear from Mordant! GASP! Spoiler alert: Mordant survives a snow storm atop a mountain while Charles didn’t quite quit Success Freaks. Charles enlightens us on the struggles between quitting his job and the success that follows. Mordant gets lost in mexico and explains how sometimes you need to go into the darkness and take a left to find your way to what you want. The group gets theological, talking about how we all are the image of “Gawd” and our need to co-create. A new hashtag is coined by Charles in hopes of creating a happier future. And in the On Beyond section, we look at the ways Burning Man can teach us to have an awesome life. [Read more…]
We strive to surround ourselves with the people and environments we want to be like. Sometimes in that journey, we become unaware of the toxic environments we are moving through to get to our goals. Mordant & McFall discuss how to become more aware of your environment and how to maintain the life you desire despite your toxic surroundings.
This week on Success Freaks the guys talk current events, they ask with whom do you surround yourself, and Listener Lauren offers a change to a Success Freaks catchphrase. In the Level Up section, C&M teach you to be aware of your environment and responsible for your situation. And in the On Beyond section, it’s the connection between Perception, Words, and Environment.
Segment One –
Charles & Mordant debate the correct use of the term “V” vs. “VS.” Mordant is mixing his passion for success with his cold medicine for this show. Charles fills us in on his plans to officiate an upcoming event at Dragon Con 2015. The guys discuss the idea of trying to get ahead in a toxic environment.
Segment Two –
Mordant talks about the question “Who do you surround yourself with?” Charles tells a story about an incident that grew from his situation or environment. He also brings up the ways a “toxic environment” can influence your life. Mordant introduces the idea that it’s OUR responsibility to overcome our environment. The guys follow up with examples of this in their lives.
Segment Three –
Charles reads a letter from Listener Lauren. In the episode SF #213 – Level Me Up, Scotty, Lauren heard Mordant use the term “Suck it up, Buttercup!” Lauren feels that it’s a very negative expression and suggests an alternative. Mordant & Charles discuss the origins of the phrase and the differing ways it can be perceived, the importance of assuming responsibility for whatever situation you’re in, and the differences between “Sucking it up” and “Leveling Up.”
Segment Four – This week’s “Level Ups”
The guys talk with the chat room and go into further detail in the conversation about “Sucking it up” and “Leveling Up.”
Charles’ Level Up: Overcome a negative environment by being Aware. Pay attention to everything around you.
Mordant’s Level Up: Don’t blame your environment for your situation. Overcome it.

With so many Changes happening day-to-day, it’s difficult to keep up with what’s going on in your life – let alone everyone else’s. What happens when the dream you once held so tightly onto morphs into…something else? What if it’s worse? What if it’s better? What if it works out, but it looks nothing like what you were hoping/praying/longing for it to be? How can you divorce yourself from the goals you’ve been married to for so long? Doesn’t that mean turning your back on everything you’ve been standing for? Won’t that make you…a failure!?
Mordant & McFall invite Bish In the Now & Metron’s own Jim Swilley back to Success Freaks for a candid discussion about what it means to maintain an attitude of non-attachment. By advancing to the rear (or left or right), you finally relax that chokehold you’ve have on the way you thought things should turn out. Instead, you achieve your success by adapting, bending like reed, and Rolling with the Changes. [Read more…]
