Mordant & McFall have talked about how to get started on your journey and how to weather the storms. But, what about when everything seemingly is going well but unchanging? The discussion today involves how to find your next way point or milestone and how to find the challenges to level up without attracting negative drama. [Read more…]
“Have patience with all things, but, first of all with yourself.”
~Saint Francis de Sales~
Sitting in an office chair in the backyard of my friend EJ’s house, and my thoughts turn trippingly towards Patience. Not your run-of-the-mill, garden-variety, patience-is-a-virtue Patience either. Nope.
Not for today.
Not for you.
For you I save the good stuff. The stuff that runs a little deeper. More personal.
I want to discuss having patience with yourself and your process. Cutting yourself some slack as you begin or continue on your path towards self-actualization. It’s easy to pinpoint what needs doing when you think about patience with everyone outside your personal bubble. There are steps you can take to ease the pain of their annoying stimuli, no matter how much they are exasperating you at present. If all else fails—the smiling, the prayer, the counting to 10—you can always up and walk away. Any of these techniques are done simply enough and your world is set back in balance—if you put forth the effort it takes to keep everything flowing “merrily, merrily down the stream.”
Why is it you allow yourself to get caught up with the things you say you do not want in your life? You focus on your problems, knowing full well what you focus on grows and grows and grows…Your blood pressure skyrockets and your stomach bleeds fresh ulcers as you wring your hands in consternation. What’s up with that?!
Wouldn’t it be better to fix your attention on those things you want? Whether it’s to Be, Do, Have—whatever it is you desire—shouldn’t you be fixated on that? Even a little bit? And, since you’re co-creating your world by putting your conscious and subconscious thoughts in gear, shouldn’t you put more effort into training your brain to lean towards the positive? If that is the way the Universe works (it is), then why-oh-why are you wasting your time mainlining negative drama? If you’re going to be addicted to something, then shouldn’t it be something that lets you off at a much brighter place than the spot where you began this ride?
Tonight’s Success Freaks episode delves into remaining open to the lessons Life is throwing at you. Paradigm Shifting Without a Clutch is about remaining ever ready to grow and learn, quickly if at all possible, from those uncomfortable situations we all face throughout our day-to-day sojourn on this rock we call Earth.
Whilst juggling the broadcast from two different locales – this time, Mordant from the Bear’s Den Studio and Charles at the hospital, bringing home the newborn Baby Zoe – the Success Freaks share some of their own ups & downs and how they’ve dealt with & grown from them. Hop in and enjoy “The Fast and The Furious” ride that goes along with people opening up their lives for inspection. As always, your Success Freaks remain vulnerable so that others might read the “American Graffiti” on the wall, sharing life lessons learned and showing others how to become a quick study on Life’s Highway, the better to make sure the tough lessons are “Gone in 60 Seconds.”
Every day you’re working on your affirmations. You’re building your positive life as you continue on your journey to YOUR dream of success. You’re making changes to be a better friend, a better person, a better YOU. Yet, every day you come in contact with someone whose negativity threatens to infect your optimistic endeavors. When that friend you haven’t seen for a while greets you with only the bad/negative parts of his/her life, how are you going to react? When your family, friends, or co-workers dump their bad mood/problems on your doorstep, how are you going to respond? How do you keep from getting sucked in by negative, “poor me,” Poo-Flinging messy attitudes of others and keep it from derailing your forward motion? You alone have the ability to choose how you handle those situations. So…what are you going to do?
Tonight our “Pooh-Flinging” Motivational duo, Mordant & McFall, discuss what to do in these situations and how to change the negative to positive in each of our lives. Utilizing affirmations, prayer or simply thinking happy thoughts, we can not only shield ourselves from other people’s negative moments (because, hopefully, they are only moments), we can also help others turn their negatives into positives.
