What’s up with millennials today!? Or, so many of us for that matter! Ever feel like they wear their the-world-owes-me attitude like a badge of honor? They work hard (sometimes), putting in a good two-hour’s effort, then proclaim loudly how unfair it all is and quit. Sound familiar to you? How about from you? Where did all this Entitlement come from in the first place… and how close to home does it hit? Were we so coddled as children we have a hard time coping with the slightest amount of pushback from the job? People around us? The Universe!? Have we become such babies or is this the natural way of things in the 21st Century?

You are plugging along with your life…dealing with the J.O.B., having fun with your friends, finally meeting that special someone that you’re sure you want to spend the rest of your life with. It’s fun, it’s exciting, and you’re loving the chance to explore all of the possibilities of a real romance and, dare you think it…something more. Then, seemingly out of the blue, you discover that there will soon be three of you. A baby is on the way. Of course it’s a shock, but you think you’ve got this covered. It can’t be that hard being a parent. You go to the baby showers, collect the items you think you’re going to need to take care of a little one, read every book you can find about being a parent, and feel like you’re really ready for the big event. However, you never think about how this one little change in your life will affect everything else in your world. Your relationships with your friends, your relationships with your family, even your relationship with each other. Suddenly you go from being a couple to starting a family. How are you going to deal with it all?

If you don’t go, does your family send you on endless guilt trips by trying to make you feel like you don’t care about them? Have you ever wondered how you could find a middle ground so you could stay at home and celebrate with your own family and, for once, enjoy your holiday time without alienating other family members or feeling pressured?

Mordant takes a night off as McFall, with his Guest Host, LaLa Zigfreid, discuss the trials and tribulations of “Family Matters” as Thanksgiving rapidly approaches.

Tonight Charles (McFall) shares his situation of dutifully suffering for years with demands from his family – eventually blowing up over the stress, the two years of silence that followed, and finally calling a truce that everyone seems to be able to successfully live with. Guest Host LaLa Zigfreid offers up her own experiences as an adopted child where she never felt a part of the family. LaLa goes on to share how she’s turning all her negatives into positives and getting so much more from her holidays than she once did.

Self-esteem (or self-worth), simply put, is how good we feel about ourselves and, believe it or not, it’s not something we’re born with. People that surround us, and certain circumstances, can cause us to feel unworthy of praise, greatness, and even love. Since studies have shown that 2 out of 3 people suffer from low self-esteem or self-worth, it’s easy to see why this problem came to mind for tonight’s topic.

In this episode, McFall and Guest Host LaLa Zigfreid tackle the subject of “Greater Self Worth.” Together they discuss the early damage and messages we received (whether real or imagined), what it took to start the inner changes of self-healing, and where they are today…with a touch on how, and where, they still need to grow.
