We strive to surround ourselves with the people and environments we want to be like. Sometimes in that journey, we become unaware of the toxic environments we are moving through to get to our goals. Mordant & McFall discuss how to become more aware of your environment and how to maintain the life you desire despite your toxic surroundings.
This week on Success Freaks the guys talk current events, they ask with whom do you surround yourself, and Listener Lauren offers a change to a Success Freaks catchphrase. In the Level Up section, C&M teach you to be aware of your environment and responsible for your situation. Segment One –
Charles & Mordant debate the correct use of the term “V” vs. “VS.” Mordant is mixing his passion for success with his cold medicine for this show. Charles fills us in on his plans to officiate an upcoming event at Dragon Con 2015. The guys discuss the idea of trying to get ahead in a toxic environment.
Segment Two –
Mordant talks about the question “Who do you surround yourself with?” Charles tells a story about an incident that grew from his situation or environment. He also brings up the ways a “toxic environment” can influence your life. Mordant introduces the idea that it’s OUR responsibility to overcome our environment. The guys follow up with examples of this in their lives.
Segment Three –
Charles reads a letter from Listener Lauren. In the episode SF #213 – Level Me Up, Scotty, Lauren heard Mordant use the term “Suck it up, Buttercup!” Lauren feels that it’s a very negative expression and suggests an alternative. Mordant & Charles discuss the origins of the phrase and the differing ways it can be perceived, the importance of assuming responsibility for whatever situation you’re in, and the differences between “Sucking it up” and “Leveling Up.”
Segment Four – This week’s “Level Ups”
The guys talk with the chat room and go into further detail in the conversation about “Sucking it up” and “Leveling Up.”
Charles’ Level Up: Overcome a negative environment by being Aware. Pay attention to everything around you.
Mordant’s Level Up: Don’t blame your environment for your situation. Overcome it.

On Beyond Success Freaks: (Here Charles & Mordant talk about how they “Go bigger, Badder, Better, More!”)
