Working to excel in this life, do you do your due diligence?  Are you willing to put in the effort required now in order to make sure your business, goal, and/or relationship smoothly sails forward later?  If you are wanting things to grow/expand/explode and in a good way in your life, you might find you are going to have to put in some sweat equity early on to set things up to go that way.  And, that’s what this episode is about: doing your due diligence, those things you need to do, to excel in life.

Since Mordant is traveling from Minnesota to North Carolina, we’re revisiting SF #118 this week. We sincerely hope you enjoy it. 

Is fear of success a real thing? If so, why are people so afraid of this beneficial thing they keep saying that want out of life? So many people unknowingly sabotage themselves without realizing it and then wonder why they’re not succeeding.

Fear of Success means being afraid of the very thing you desire. Giving into that fear will keep you safely ensconced in that snuggly-safe bed you are making for yourself by not taking the steps necessary to live a bigger, badder, better, more life. Moving beyond this self-imposed mediocrity means giving up what you’re comfortable with. It means leaving your comfort zone and taking enough of a leap of faith to take a closer look at what you need to change in order to be successful.

Just when you get used to something – a job, relationship, a certain age – things flip-flop around and you are forced to “Roll With the Changes.”  Embrace the fact that Change is a big and necessary part of your life.  It forces you to adapt/grow/evolve/get off the couch.  Once you learn this, those formally annoying changes become an exciting part of the adventure that will enrich your life.  Though not always easy, it doesn’t have to be a drag.  You might as well lean in and grow with it – for your changes are a-comin’.

Success Freaks #145 – Planting Hope in Other Gardens w/Special Guest Derrick Duplessy

Often we run across those people who need a little help in their lives.  Whether they have merely stepped off the path to their dreams or gone the darker route of addiction, our first inclination is get in there and lend a helping hand.  Much to our surprise…and our chagrin – this often achieves the opposite effect of annoying them and pushing them even further off the path of hope.  How can we help those in need when what they need most is to want to help themselves?  Planting hope for them to grow later when they’re ready is the way to go, but difficult to master.
