SF #173 – Priorities: Relationships vs. Work vs. Goals

November 2, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

Having a hard time watching your priorities face off against one another?  Are you busy building a juggling act and yet you’re not an entertainer?  Does your relationship have to compete with your work and your goals for your attention?  Do you find that there’s not enough time in the day for not only what you have to do but what you want to do?  Sometimes the mere thought of everything on a to-do list will send people into a spin out of anxiety and depression – all the while knowing there’s not even enough time to waste on an panic attack.  How do successful people balance everything that needs doing with stuff they want to accomplish and a family life?

While out on an errant errand, Mordant crashes headlong into this very problem.  Listen in as the Level Up Guys shuck and jive, bob and weave through the rough rapids of a real life.  If you’d like to see how your Success Freaks handle the same problems with priorities you’re faced with everyday, balancing betwixt relationships, work, and goals, this is the show for you.

SF #172 – Radio Edits – Guest Starring AM 1450 WGNC’s Scott (& Dawn) Neisler

October 26, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

Need a do-over?  Need to take a Mulligan?  Feel like you want to start over?  What if things aren’t as bad as they seem?  What if all those “wrongs” happening in your life are just part of the plan?  There’s nothing “bad” really.  You just need to do some Radio Edits to clean things up a little and smooth out the rough edges.

Mordant visits Scott & Dawn Neisler and the AM 1450 WGNC studio in Shelby, North Carolina, laughing and chatting about what Scott needed to edit in his life when he went from working the textiles biz to becoming a radio-station entrepreneur.  Though not in the same studio as the rest, McFall makes sure to throw in enough of his own worthy wisdom and stories to help polish an already shiny episode. SF #171 – BoxTrolls Parables

October 19, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

At a time where many of us are playing things safe, there are a few bright lights who stretch out beyond the relative safety of their known surroundings and security blankets.  Those who trade familiar and familial ecosystems for new adventures, daring endeavors, and “Wide Open Spaces.”  Are you such a person?  Wouldn’t you like to be?

In this special episode, your Success Freaks share a variety of anecdotes inspired by this week’s occurrences… as well as the animated movie “The BoxTrolls.”  Having just returned from the movie and giving it a glowing review, Mordant can’t help but regale McFall with how he believes what he saw relates to real life.  McFall gives a story or two back in kind and the resulting in a tongue-in-cheek episode adeptly named “BoxTrolls Parables.” [Read more…]

SF #170 – A Proactive Helping Hand

October 12, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

What does it mean to lend a helping hand…and when, exactly, are you supposed to do that?  When you see them struggling in need?  Or should you wait for them to ask for your help?  Wouldn’t it be considered nosy…butting in…rude for you to “come to the rescue” uninvited?

Having been faced with situations similar to these recently, Mordant & McFall launch headlong into the show, discussing what it means to lend a Proactive Helping Hand.  The conversation ebbs and flows, winding through differing layers of making yourself available and being of service to others.  Discover when to wait to be asked for aid and when to jump in, how much might be too much, as well as the good and bad of interventions.  With lots of laughter all ‘round, your Success Freaks show you how being Proactive – Willing, Ready, and Swift – works best when it comes to Lending a Helping Hand. SF #169 – Fear of Success … #118 Revisited

October 3, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

Since Mordant is traveling from Minnesota to North Carolina, we’re revisiting SF #118 this week. We sincerely hope you enjoy it.

Is fear of success a real thing? If so, why are people so afraid of this beneficial thing they keep saying that want out of life? So many people unknowingly sabotage themselves without realizing it and then wonder why they’re not succeeding.

Fear of Success means being afraid of the very thing you desire. Giving into that fear will keep you safely ensconced in that snuggly-safe bed you are making for yourself by not taking the steps necessary to live a bigger, badder, better, more life. Moving beyond this self-imposed mediocrity means giving up what you’re comfortable with. It means leaving your comfort zone and taking enough of a leap of faith to take a closer look at what you need to change in order to be successful.

September 28, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

SF #166 – Communication – Say What You Want

September 14, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

Have you ever been guilty of not being able to read your mate’s mind?  Have you ever accused your special someone of not predicting & meeting your needs fast enough?  Sound silly?  Whether spouse, best friend, or business associate, we’ve all fallen to one side or the other of the You-Should-Know-Without-Me-Having-to-Tell-You line of thinking.  Oddly enough, though quite damaging to any relationship, this is a problem that is easily remedied.   All you have to do is…

August 31, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

Hit me once – shame on you.  Hit me twice – shame on me.  Hit me over and over again until I am up against the ropes and it is time to rethink being in the ring.

There are times in all of our lives when we feel life is gunning for us.  It is these times when you can throw in the towel…or choose to use the onslaught to level up and become stronger than you were before the blows began raining down.  Every challenge is another opportunity to work on your technique and grow with the flow.  Leaning In, you look your opponent in the eye and, with a bruised-but-not-beaten smirk say, “That all you got…?” [Read more…]
