SF #183 – Back to the Future in 2015

January 11, 2015 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

October 15, 2015 is the date Marty McFly set his Delorean time machine to in Back to the Future Part II.  So, we have just a few months to “get our shiznit” together in time to create flying cars, hoverboards, and hydrators.  (Actually hoverboards are real – according to skateboard guru Tony Hawk.)  In the meantime, what cool inventions and grand adventures are you working on for your 2015?

For this first episode of the new year, Mordant & McFall are discussing their goals (not resolutions) for 2015 and how they’re going about achieving them.  Join your Level Up Guys for an hour of temporal power as they go back to creating their and your future in 2015. [Read more…]

SF #182 – Remembering 2014

January 4, 2015 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

Sooo…what did you do in 2014?  Do you remember or is it all mushed together in a haze of hopes, dreams, and woulda-shoulda-couldas?  With so much hustle & bustle happening around us, it’s good to take stock of our year’s best accomplishments and attempts.  At the very least it will give you a clearer picture of how far you have come in a year….  And, how far you have left to go in the next.

Join Mordant & McFall as they wax reminiscent about 2014.  There are conversations about where they’ve been and what they’ve been up to over the past year.  They even take a hard left to visit whether it’s good or bad to be trying out so many different things at once.  As we draw nearer to the beginning of 2015, take time to stop, smell the metaphorical roses, and look at all you have wrought in 2014.  What you find may surprise you…or fertilize your passion enough to get you off the couch and into something fun!  This year has come and about to be gone.  Let’s give 2014 its due and clear a path to 2015…together!

SF #181 – Happy Holidaze 2014

December 28, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

‘Tis the season to be…grumpy?  During this holiday season, do you find yourself spouting Bah Humbug more often than Merry Christmas?  Do thoughts of family dinners this Christmas Holiday stir up more feelings of dread than visions of sugarplums dancing in your…well, you know.  If you find yourself in a quandary about Kwanzaa, a huff about Hanukkah, or exasperated about X-mas, then this is the show for you.

With a birthday just past and Christmas around the corner (when this episode was recorded), Mordant & McFall tackle the slippery slope of the Holiday Spirit and the meaning(s) of Christmas.  Is Santa Claus truly for everyone… or only the less-enlightened, more materially-minded masses looking to horn in on a religious holiday?  Your Level Up Guys go back and forth on this one, chucking Christmas cheer and tongue-in-cheek tinsel all over the Holiday Season.  Give a listen and decide for yourself whether they are being Naughty or Nice.

Happy Holidaze & God Bless Us, Every One!!! [Read more…]

SF #180 – Would you Rather be Brilliant or Inspired?

SF#180

This week on Facebook.com/SuccessFreaks, Charles asked the question Would you Rather be Brilliant or Inspired?  First off, what’s the difference if any between the two?  Are we just arguing semantics here or is it anything like Would you Rather be Lucky or Good?  While one aspect taps into personal abilities and the other divine gifts, how does one choose?  Is there a constant right or wrong for each individual or does each work best situationally?

Confused?  Give a listen to this episode and let Mordant & McFall help you sort this out.  Both have strong ideas about whether being Brilliant or Inspired is better case by case.  With more written listener interaction than you can shake a metaphor at, this episode promises to both edify and entertain you.  By the end you will have a much clearer understand on the what, when, and how of whether You Would Rather be Brilliant or Inspired. SF #179 – Limiting Growth: How Big is your Beanstalk?

December 14, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

What happens when your growth hits a wall, running smack into the stagnation of others?  Is it their fault…or due to self-limiting beliefs on your part?  Are you, in fact using them in your own subconscious scheme of limiting growth?  Jack, of Jack and the Beanstalk fame, experienced growth even when he was cheated into taking magic beans.  He had growth when he discovered a huge obstacle of the beanstalk.  As long as he kept going, Jack experienced growth.  But, what about you?  What happens when you hit the immovable force that is your own personal giant at the end of the journey that is your beanstalk?  Do you cut down the thing that inspired growth or do you find another way?

In this episode of Success Freaks, Mordant & McFall discuss the aspects of seeing other people as roadblocks.  What it truly means when they pop up in your life, and how to grow beyond them.  And, challenge the question: Can people limit where you want to go in life?  If you’ve been wondering what to do about pesky problems like negative family input, then this is the show for you! SF #178 – No Time Like the Present

December 7, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

With so many things happening in your life, you often lose sight of what’s most important.  Remaining present will bring clarity in the midst of chaos giving you the tools you need to not only survive, but to thrive.  Remember, it’s called a present because it’s a gift you give yourself.  Staying present not only allows you laser-beam focus on whatever task may be at hand, but also gifts you with the ability to enjoy the richness of life happening around you.

In this episode, Mordant & McFall discuss remaining present as a salve to any emotional pain you might be experiencing.  Rather than dwelling on your most recent loss, often it is best to concentrate on what remains immediately front of you.  Staying present helps keep you balanced and grounded – no matter the storm of chaos raging around you.

Also discussed in this episode are your Level Up Guys joining BlogTalkRadio and the recent Star Wars teaser trailer.  All this and more on Success Freaks. [Read more…]

SF#177 – Down The Rabbit Hole

November 30, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

Should you stay safe and comfortable in your life – especially since everything is working great?  Or is it better to seize the adventure, mixing things up and initiating the changes you’ve been yearning to experience?  When not “rocking the boat” means allowing complacency and lethargy to consume the time it might take to become your own hero, it’s best to throw caution to the wind and swallow that damned Red Pill of Possibility, and jump Down the Rabbit Hole.

In this episode, Mordant & McFall poke, prod, & preach about what it means to take chances and live your life to the fullest.  Moving beyond the relative safety of your couch, step away from the television or book spouting other people’s creations and create something awesome of your own.  You only have time to lose and you’re letting that slip through your fingers already anyway.  Why not throw your life into a little turmoil and, quite possibly, become the star of your own story instead of watching/reading about the heroes in someone else’s?

SF #176 – To Vote or Not to Vote

November 23, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

To Vote or Not to Vote – that is the question.  Is it true, as Dan Rather states, “Only votes talk, everything else walks”?  Or can you give voice to political questions without voting and have it still mean something?  With the 2014 Midterms boasting the lowest voter turnout since World War II (36.4%), it appears that a few people are deciding the direction your government takes while the rest believe it is a waste of time to even try.  What do you think?

Join Mordant & McFall for a non-politicized debate on whether To Vote or Not to Vote.  Is it better to get out of the house and exercise your hard-won American right…?  Or, can you, by not voting, make enough of a statement to change the suffering system of American politics.  Your Level Up Guys go back and forth on this – both with enough passion for their beliefs to throw in some playful “mudslinging.”  All this for your entertainment and edification.

So…Enjoy! [Read more…]

SF #175 – When In Doubt, Give First

November 16, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

Want more Communication, Quality Time, Love in your Relationship?  Not getting what you think you deserve, but you don’t want to be the one to make the first move?  Perhaps it’s time to put that way of thinking behind you and be the changes you want to see.  It’s easy to give love when you’re already receiving it in abundance.  But, what about in the face of indifference?  Or, worse, hostility?  Can you Give love even in the face of that?  Would you be willing to make the first move, to Give First, if that is what it takes to get things rolling?  What if it’s up to you to make the first move?  Trick question…because it is.

In this special Veterans Day episode of Success Freaks, Mordant & McFall share some of what they’re learning about waking a sleepy relationship from it’s apathy nap.  In a relationship, learn to focus on giving more than what you may or may not be receiving.  It’s up to you to make a difference in your own life, so:

Be the Change.

Make a Difference.

Give First. [Read more…]

SF #174 – Do Your Due Diligence and Excel

November 9, 2014 by Success Freaks Leave a Comment

Working to excel in this life, do you do your due diligence?  Are you willing to put in the effort required now in order to make sure your business, goal, and/or relationship smoothly sails forward later?  If you are wanting things to grow/expand/explode and in a good way in your life, you might find you are going to have to put in some sweat equity early on to set things up to go that way.  And, that’s what this episode is about: doing your due diligence, those things you need to do, to excel in life.

Mordant discovers that by putting a day’s worth of effort into setting up several Excel spreadsheets, he can streamline calculations that would normally take him hours on his own.  In this episode of Success Freaks, both he and McFall discuss what it takes to set yourself up to succeed – both the struggles and pay off of.
