The guys make the inevitable Prince reference, talk about the busy Memorial Day weekend, and touch base with a bit of the controversy they encounter in daily life. The Podcast Movement (which we’ll hear more about in Segment two) and the Glenn Beck connection are discussed.
Segment Two –
The guys tell us about The Podcast Movement, the controversial hiring of Glenn Beck, and how that controversy was handled. Charles & Mordant make the point that the way in which controversy is dealt with is very important. You can lose or gain customers depending on the way you deal with or handle controversy. Could The Podcast Movement have handled this in a way that minimizes the controversy? Can controversy be a good thing?
Segment Three –
A live Listener Question from the Chatroom: Lauren asks “When should you use calculated controversy to help your business?” Charles talks about how deliberate use of controversy can both help and hinder the success of your business. Mordant touches base on how a bit of controversy in his other endeavors can provide a little balance or act as a filter to reach a target audience. The guys also talk about the way in which having a partner helps provide a differing point of view where controversy in concerned. Mike in the Chatroom asks about “The Line” and is it ever okay to cross it?
